St Ita’s Voluntary Housing Association and Day Care Centre CLG is a voluntary company limited by guarantee with charitable status. It was the brainchild of the Late Canon James Neville. The project is supported by the Department of Rural and Community Development and Pobal through the Community services programme. Funding is also provided for Services to the Elderly under Section 39 Funding from the HSE.
St Ita’s provides housing and the Day Care Centre provides a place for elderly and vulnerable adults of our community to meet. The service is offered two days a week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and transport can be provided where possible in our minibus. The visitors participate in activities such as bingo, cards, music, dancing, and games. Music is provided by local musicians. A three-course meal is provided as well as morning tea/coffee and scones, and afternoon refreshments.
Day Care Centre Open Days
Each Tuesday the Centre caters for visitors and residents for a day of social activities.
Transport is provided where possible by our minibus to and from the Centre. Morning Tea/Coffee and freshly baked scones are provided on arrival to our visitors where they socialise with each other and staff members.
Activities such as Bingo, Card Playing, Music, Dancing, Story telling etc take place throughout the day.
A three-course lunch of soup, main course and dessert is served at 1pm in our dining room.

St Ita’s maintains 23 houses where the elderly and vulnerable adults are supported to live independently in their local community. Each single storey house consists of two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and bathroom. A three-course lunch is provided for residents Monday to Friday. Meals on Wheels
Meals can be delivered Monday to Friday to Abbeyfeale and the surrounding areas. This service can provide a daily source of contact for those living alone and assists those in need of regular wholesome meals. We cater for various dietary requirements.
